Step 1: Transcript Evaluation

Request a transcript evaluation by emailing unofficial transcript(s) to wconregistrar@duke.edu

Watts College of Nursing (WCON) will provide you with a confirmation of your transferrable courses. Please allow 48-72 hours.
Step 2: Apply
-
United States Citizen or the United States Lawful Permanent Resident
- Minimum 45 of 60 general education credit hours completed from an accredited college or university at the time of application submission. You can complete your pending courses at any accredited institution.
- TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based Test). All applicants who do not have English as their native language must take the TOEFL. A total score of 100, with a minimum of 25 for each section, is required.
- Two references (1 of each or two academics)
- Academic – academic advisor or a teaching professor who has taught you in a collegiate environment can attest to your academic abilities.
- Professional – work-related (supervisor or manager)
- Unofficial college transcripts will be used for the review process only
- If you attended a higher education institution outside of the United States, you would need to have your foreign transcripts evaluated by the World Education Services

- The Coordinator of Student Affairs reviews an application for admissions requirements
Step 3: Application Review
- Completion of the ATI TEAS, a pre-admission test, is a requirement for students. Students must create an ATI student account, and register for the TEAS Online Remote Proctored Exam and complete the TEAS.
- Preparation is strongly recommended. Student study material can be found at ATI TEAS Prep.
- All applications are holistically reviewed after receipt of the TEAS score report before making admission decisions. The three decisions are acceptance, waitlist, and denial.

Interviewing and interfacing with an applicant in determining eligibility for acceptance may be required.

Admissions decisions will be notified via the application portal.
Step 4: Admissions

Submit a non-refundable enrollment fee to hold a seat in the cohort.

Before enrollment, the applicant must complete any remaining general education courses to show 60 credits from an accredited institution.

*Applicants are responsible for the costs associated with a background check, AHA BLS provider course training, alcohol/drug testing, health insurance, and uniform.

- The application does NOT have to be completed in one sitting. Applicants can save for later in the review section of the application.
- When you are ready to submit, you will be prompted to pay the non-refundable application fee.
- After submission, you will NOT be able to alter your application.
- After receiving all admissions requirements, your application is considered complete, and it is ready for review.
